Verity — summary
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer who is hired to finish a successful author's book series. The author, Verity Crawford, has been badly injured and cannot write. Lowen moves into the Crawford family home to work through Verity's notes, and finds among them an unpublished autobiography that says things no one was meant to read.
That is as far as any summary should go. Verity is built entirely on what you do not know yet, and the ending is the most argued-about in modern popular fiction. It is a psychological thriller with a romance inside it rather than a romance with a thriller inside it, so if you are coming from her other books, expect a different register.

It Ends With Us — summary
Lily Bloom moves to Boston, opens a flower shop and falls for Ryle Kincaid, a neurosurgeon who does not do relationships. As they build one anyway, her first love, Atlas Corrigan, reappears. The novel is about what Lily learned watching her mother's marriage, and about the moment she has to decide whether she is repeating it.
It is the book that made Colleen Hoover a household name, and it is not a light read. The author has written publicly that the story draws on her own family. If you have seen the film, the novel gives you Lily's interior reasoning, which is the part that actually matters.

It Starts With Us — summary
The direct sequel, picking up where It Ends With Us finishes. It follows Lily and Atlas as they try to build something, with Ryle still present as a co-parent, and it alternates into Atlas's point of view for the first time — including his side of the history you already know from Lily's.
Read It Ends With Us first. This one assumes you know everything that happened and will spoil it otherwise. It is gentler than the first book; many readers describe it as the healing after the damage.

Ugly Love — summary
Tate Collins meets Miles Archer, her brother's friend, an airline pilot who is willing to sleep with her on two conditions: she never asks about his past, and she never expects a future. The arrangement works exactly as badly as you expect. Alternating chapters go back six years to show what happened to Miles and why he is like this.
The past-timeline chapters are written in a clipped, broken style that people either love or bounce off. This is the CoHo book most often described as the one that hurt the most.

November 9 — summary
Fallon and Ben meet on 9 November, the day before she leaves for New York. They agree to meet on the same date every year for five years, with no contact in between, and to write about each other in the meantime — he is an aspiring novelist. Each section of the book is one of those November 9ths.
The structure is the appeal: you only see them once a year, so you fill in the gaps yourself. There is a reveal late on that recontextualises the whole arrangement.

Reminders of Him — summary
Kenna Rowan returns to the town she left five years earlier, after serving a prison sentence, to try to meet the daughter she has never been allowed to see. Everyone connected to her daughter has a reason to keep her away. The one person who does not know who she is turns out to be the person she cannot afford to fall for.
Of all her novels this is the one readers most often finish feeling better than they started. It deals with guilt and being refused forgiveness, but it moves towards something.
Content: death of a partner, incarceration, addiction, grief.
Confess — summary
Auburn Reed takes a job at an art studio in Dallas. The artist, Owen Gentry, makes paintings from anonymous confessions that strangers post through his door. Both of them are carrying something they cannot say out loud, and the confessions on the walls keep getting closer to it.
Lighter than most of her books and shorter. A good entry point if It Ends With Us sounds like more than you want to take on.

All Your Perfects — summary
Quinn and Graham's marriage is failing. The novel alternates between Then — how they met, which is a very good story — and Now, where they barely speak. What is between the two timelines is infertility, and the way it has quietly taken the marriage apart.
This is not a book about a couple falling in love. It is about two people deciding whether to stay. Readers who want escapism should pick something else; readers who want the truth about a long relationship will find this the most honest thing she has written.

Layla — summary
Leeds meets Layla at a wedding. Soon after, a violent event leaves Layla changed, and Leeds takes her back to the bed and breakfast where they were happiest, hoping it will bring her back. It does not go the way he planned, and the book turns steadily stranger.
Her only supernatural novel, and her most divisive. If you want CoHo doing something genuinely odd, this is it.

Regretting You — summary
Morgan had Clara at seventeen and has organised her whole life around her. Clara, now seventeen herself, is desperate not to repeat it. An accident forces mother and daughter into the same house with the same grief and none of the same information, and a secret surfaces that neither of them knew.
Told in both their voices. It is as much about mothers and daughters as it is about romance, which makes it one of the easier ones to hand to a family member.

Heart Bones — summary
Beyah Grim grows up in poverty in Kentucky and, after her mother's death, spends one summer at her father's house on a Texas island before university. Next door is Samson, who is not what he appears to be either. A short, self-contained summer novel.

Maybe Someday — summary
Sydney discovers her boyfriend has been cheating on her on the same day she turns twenty-two. Ridge, who lives across the courtyard and whose guitar she has been listening to for months, takes her in. Ridge is deaf; they communicate by writing, and they write songs together. Both of them are attached to someone else.
The book was released with an actual soundtrack of the songs in it. A gentler, more musical entry in her catalogue.
