The SAT is now digital — buy accordingly
The SAT moved to a digital, adaptive format, and it is shorter than the old paper test with a different question structure. Prep books published for the older paper SAT will still teach you the underlying maths and grammar, but the timing drills and section layout will not match what you sit. Check the edition year before you buy, and prefer Digital SAT editions where available.

When to start
Give yourself three to four months of consistent preparation before your test date. If you are applying to universities abroad for the next intake, work backwards from the application deadline and leave room to re-sit.
