What age are they for?
Ages 8–13 is the core range. Confident younger readers manage them at 7; older children often still enjoy them because the plots move quickly and the chapters are short.
They are also the series most likely to convert a reluctant reader. The chapters end on small hooks, the vocabulary is undemanding, and finishing one book in two days builds the habit that longer books later depend on.
