Freida McFadden Books in Order — Every Novel, Where to Start & Prices in Pakistan (2026)
Freida McFadden is the most requested thriller writer in our shop, and the most confusing one to buy for. Almost everything she writes is standalone — except the four books that aren't, and those are the ones everybody has heard of.
This guide sorts it out: what is a series, what is standalone, where to start, and what each book costs here.
The short answer: where to start
If you have never read her, start with The Teacher or Never Lie. Both are standalone, both are fast, and both are the version of her writing people mean when they recommend her — short chapters, ordinary setting, a turn near the end you did not see coming.
Do not start with The Witch (it is gothic horror, not a domestic thriller) or Death Row (an 80-page novella).
The Housemaid series — the only real series
Four books, and they must be read in order. Later books spoil earlier ones outright.
- The Housemaid — not currently in stock
- The Housemaid's Secret — not currently in stock
- The Housemaid Is Watching — Rs. 845
- The Housemaid's Wedding — Rs. 845
We will be straight with you: we hold books 3 and 4 and not 1 and 2. If you are new to the series, use the book request page and we will source the first two rather than sell you a book that starts midway through a story.
Everything else is standalone
You can read these in any order. Grouped by what they actually are, which matters more than publication date.

The odd ones out
| Book | What it is | Price |
|---|---|---|
| The Witch | Gothic horror — a haunted 17th-century estate, not a domestic thriller. Published 6 October 2026. | Rs. 850 |
| Death Row | A novella, roughly 80 pages. A single-sitting read, not a full novel. | Rs. 850 |
Which one is actually her best?
Reader opinion splits cleanly. The Housemaid is the famous one and the reason most people find her. Never Lie is the one people finish fastest. The Teacher is the one most often recommended to someone who says they do not normally read thrillers. Do You Remember? is the quiet favourite among readers who have already worked through the popular ones.
If you have read them all
Readers who finish her shelf usually move to Holly Jackson, Lisa Jewell, Riley Sager or Shari Lapena. We stock Holly Jackson's A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and Not Quite Dead Yet.

Are her other books connected? No. Every other title listed here is standalone and can be read in any order.
Is The Witch like her other books? No — it is supernatural gothic horror rather than a domestic thriller. Readers expecting another Housemaid have been surprised by it.
