Areej Shah Novels — Complete List, Where to Start & Prices in Pakistan (2026)

Areej Shah (اریج شاہ) is one of the most-searched Urdu novelists writing today, and one of the hardest to buy. Her books circulate mostly as PDFs, print runs are irregular, and no single page lists what she has actually written. This is our attempt at that list, with an honest note on which titles we can get you and which we cannot.

Titles we do not have — and what to do about it

These are the other Areej Shah novels readers come looking for. We do not currently stock them, and we would rather say so than have you order and wait:

  • Heartless
  • Soulmate
  • Deewangi
  • The Beast
  • Dost e Daram
  • Dil Ashna
  • Justuju e Ishq
  • Wasi

Urdu novels are the category we most often source to order, and these come up constantly. Put the title on our book request page and we will tell you honestly whether we can get it and what it will cost. No payment until we confirm.

Mind the title clashes

Two things trip people up when buying Areej Shah by title alone.

Junooniyat is not one book. At least three different Urdu novels carry the name — Areej Shah's, one by Maryam Aziz, one by Gohar Nayab. If you are buying from anyone, check the author on the cover. Ours is the Areej Shah edition.

Titles like Deewangi, Soulmate and Heartless are used by more than one Urdu writer too. The author name is what you search, not the title.

What her writing is actually like

Areej Shah sits at the darker end of contemporary Urdu romance. The heroes are intense, often possessive, and frequently unkind before they are anything else — the trope readers search for as a junooni hero. The emotional register is pitched higher than anything in the classical Urdu tradition, and the chapters are shorter and faster.

That is the appeal and it is also the objection. Readers who want Bano Qudsia's moral seriousness or Umera Ahmed's spiritual arc generally bounce off her. Readers who came for the intensity rarely stop at one.

Closest comparisons on our shelves: Noor Rajpoot is the nearest in tone, and Usri Yusra by Husna Hussain scratches the same itch. If you want something lighter, Farhat Ishtiaq is where to go instead.

A word on the PDFs

Almost every Areej Shah novel is easier to find as a scan than as a book, so it is worth being plain about what you get.

Urdu suffers far more than English from a bad scan. Nastaliq carries meaning in dot placement and in how letters join, and scanning blurs exactly those features. Across a full-length novel that is the reason people put a book down halfway and conclude they did not like it. If you have tried reading one of these on a phone and found it heavy going, the prose was probably not the problem.
