The title comes from the Quranic phrase fa inna ma'al usri yusra — with hardship comes ease — and that is the argument the whole book is making. It is a story about endurance, self-respect, and what a person is owed after they have been treated badly for long enough.

Faris is cruel to Jannat for a long stretch of the early novel, and readers disagree about whether his change of heart is earned. If a hero who starts out harsh is something you actively dislike, this is not your book.
